oils may be beneficial as this has been seen to slow chronic kidney failure in dogs and cats, although Vitamin E supplementation should accompany any diet that has a high level of oil added. Feeds high in phosphorus should be avoided, such as wheat bran and cereals, as dietary phosphorus has been seen to decrease survival time in dogs with kidney failure. Feeds high in calcium, such as alfalfa, should also be avoided as they may increase the risk of kidney stones in older horses.

Equine Products can provide the following products that may help support your older horse’s health throughout these coming winter months.

  • Flexivite HA
  • MSM
  • Linseed Oil
  • Selenavite E
  • Transvite Excel
