Global equestrian industry to converge at
Dubai International Horse Fair 2020
Hotly anticipated 16th edition will kick off on 12th March at Dubai World Trade Centre alongside the 17th edition of $4 million Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship
Dubai, United Arab Emirates:
Equestrian experts and enthusiasts from across the world will converge in Dubai from 12th-14th March for the Dubai International Horse Fair and the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, the region’s largest platform for the equine sector will bring together leading equestrian equipment companies, owners, breeders, stables, clubs, veterinarians, services and care products, serving the needs of both professional and leisure riders and wider horse enthusiasts.
Supporting a global equine industry valued at approximately $300 billion, the 2020 edition of the Dubai International Horse Fair will feature renowned brands specialising in state-of-the-art stables, feeds, riding apparel and garments, as well as the latest equine products, horse therapies and the finest breeds of horse in the world.
Since its launch in 2004 under royal patronage, the Dubai International Horse Fair has been at the heart of the Middle East equestrian industry, and is the only trade show in the region where suppliers of equestrian products and services can meet the most successful and influential owners, breeders, stables and clubs.
Over 10,000 buyers, professionals, breeders and enthusiasts from more than 25 countries are expected to attend the Dubai International Horse Fair 2020 to widen their global networks with over 200 brands and companies.
The Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship (DIAHC) – a competition displaying the beauty, agility and heritage of purebred Arabian horses – is set to be hosted alongside the Dubai International Horse Fair, with $4 million (AED 15 million) offered as prize money, presenting majestic Arabian steeds that are valued up to $2 million. The Championship attracts the participation of some of the world’s finest purebred horses, with last year’s edition hosting 295 competing horses from 24 continents.
The ever-popular Dubai International Horse Fair auction will return once again and is set to offer Arabian purebred horses from local studs for viewing, bidding and buying. In previous years, the auction has presented around 100 pureblood Arabian breeds for sale with onlookers enjoying the thrill of a live auction.
“We are delighted to host the 16th edition of the Dubai International Horse Fair and the 17th edition of the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, which continue to support the region’s growing equine sector. The Middle East’s passion for the equestrian sector is evident from the way that the Dubai International Horse Fair has grown to host the world’s leading owners, breeders, stables and horse enthusiasts. We continue to see even greater worldwide interest in the Dubai International Horse Fair, and we are proud to welcome exhibitors, buyers, breeders and enthusiasts from around the world, who come to network, grow their businesses and build unique opportunities,” said Asma Al Sharif, Group Portfolio Director, Dubai World Trade Centre.
